Amendment to the Operation of the Law concerning the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc.
The Ministry of the Environment (MOE), the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) invited public comments on the amendment to the Operation of the Law concerning the Evaluation of Chemical Substances and Regulation of Their Manufacture, etc. from July 20 to August 20, 2007, and received 12 opinions. As a result, the three ministries today have amended the Operation to clarify the interpretation of the Class I Specified Chemical Substances contained in other chemicals in small quantities as by-products.
