Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change Held

The Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change was hosted by the United States of America on September 27th and 28th, 2007, in Washington D.C. The Japanese delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Masahiko Koumura, and Mutsuyoshi Nishimura, Special Advisor to the Cabinet. Ryutaro Yatsu, Counselor for Global Environment of the Ministry of the Environment, also attended the meeting. The result of the meeting and views of the Japanese delegation have been presented (in Japanese). It was agreed that the next meeting will be held after the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in December, 2007, in Bali.
