Public Comments Invited regarding the Bill Partially Amending the Ministerial Ordinance on Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions by Specified Emitters

The Bill Partially Amending the Law Concerning the Promotion of the Measures to Cope with Global Warming (Law No. 61 of 2005) obliges specified emitters to calculate and report their greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 equivalent). According to this bill, the government is required to publicize the submitted emission-related information.

Article 21-3 of the Law Concerning the Promotion of the Measures to Cope with Global Warming (Law No. 117 of 1998) states that there may be a risk that the rights and interests of a specified emitter could be damaged by the publication of information of its greenhouse gas emissions.

Concerning the above risk, the MOE establishes a demand form and invites public comments from March 2 until March 31, 2007.
