Test Results for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Wild Birds and Actions Taken for the Suspected Cases of HPAI in Japan in Response to its Outbreak in Korea (Announcement)

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has strengthened the enforcement of testing wild birds for HPAI in response to the outbreak of HPAI in chickens in Chorurapukudo, South Korea on November 25, 2006, and announced its test results in December 2006. Furthermore, the MOE dispatched its specialists to research wild birds habitats around the areas suspected of HPAI outbreak in Japan.
