Results of the survey on the enforcement status of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act and Soil Contamination Investigations and Countermeasures in FY 2012
The MOE had conducted its annual survey on the enforcement status of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act and Soil Contamination Investigations and Countermeasures, which had been reported or recognized by prefectures and/or Cabinet-order designated cities.
The number of Soil Contamination Investigations reported in FY 2012, which started in April 2012 and ended in March 2013, based on the said law was 689.
As a result of the said Soil Contamination Investigations, 466 Areas (72 Areas: Areas which Requires Action, 394 Areas: Areas for which Changes to Form or Nature Require Notification) had shown to exceed the designated standards, which resulted in the addition on the list of designated areas for FY 2012.
