'Twentieth National Conference of the Liaison Council of Municipalities for Water Environment Conservation' and the 'Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters Summit "Tenkawa"'

The 20th National Conference of the Liaison Council of Municipalities for Water Environment Conservation will take place on September 8, 2006 at Tenkawa Village, Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture. Tenkawa is where Dorogawa Springs, one of the "Selected 100 Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters," are located.

On the same day following the conference, the 2006 National Symposium for Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters will be held at the same place. The symposium is held annually with the aim of promoting the preservation of the water environment and raising awareness about water-quality conservation. The 2006 symposium takes place under the name of 'Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters Summit "Tenkawa."' At the summit, lectures and a panel discussion will be held on the theme "Appreciation for Water: Water and Mountain Worship - the Origin of Japanese Views on Nature."
