Results of "Kobe Biodiversity Dialogue in 2009"

On October 15-16, 2009, the MOE of Japan held the "Kobe Biodiversity Dialogue in 2009" with approximately 300 participants coming from various stakeholders including business sector, NGOs, researchers, governments, and international organizations.
At this global forum, active discussions on the promotion of public engagement concerning the conservation of biodiversity and its sustainable use were deliberated, as well as the post-2010 Biodiversity Target.
The results of this forum will be used as basis for the Japan Proposal on revision of the strategic plan (which is the formulation of the post-2010 Biodiversity Target) and the progress of discussions for the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP10) to be held in Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture in 2010.
