State Minister Tokashiki's Visit to Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture

February 14, 2018

An oil spill from an Iranian tanker that sank in the East China Sea in mid-January had been spreading and reached islands in southern Japan earlier this month. State Minister Tokashiki met with Kagoshima Governor Mitazono, to discuss about prevention of further oil spill and cleanup processes. She also visited beaches to see the actual black clumps of oily matter washed up on the shores of Amami.
