MOE's NCV (Nanocellulose Vehicle) and AGV (All GaN Vehicle) Projects Drive Net-Zero Emissions Future at the Tokyo Motor Show 2019

October 24, 2019

Minister Koizumi presented the MOE's next-generation vehicles at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show. AGV is about 20 percent more efficient than current models thanks to the special gallium nitride (GaN) material used in its inverter. NCV is made from cellulose nanofibers (CNF), a material derived from wood pulp, one-fifth the weight of steel and five times stronger.
