Amihari Observation Lift

Facility landscape

To enjoy climbing in summer and the autumnal leaves in autumn – Let’s go for a Sky Walk!

Amihari Observation Lift is within the compound of KYUKAMURA Iwate Amihari Hot Springs located at the south-western foot of Mt. Iwate. To go up to the 1,350 m high mountaintop, you’ll transfer the lift twice (total 3 sections).

On the skiing slopes, you can enjoy watching a large flower community of Shiraneaoi (Glaucidium palmatum) and the flying chestnut-tiger butterflies (Parantica sita). The area is also a starting point for the climbing routes of Mt. Iwate and Mt. Mitsuishi.

From the mountaintop observation deck, you can look at the vapor of gases at the source of Amihari Hot Springs.
