Amihari is situated on the southern slope of Mt. Inukura which is ranging in line with Mt. Iwate, and Amihari Onsen has a long history of being used as a therapeutic hot spring area. Today it is also used by many climbers as their base for climbing Mt. Iwate and others. Moreover, Amihari has been a base for other activities, such as a hot spring therapy and a stay for a cure and a rest, an interaction with nature through nature observations and camping.
