Hydraulic Jump | |

The Antarctic Continent inclines mildly from inland to the coastline. A phenomenon that cool, dense air from inland flowing at high speed ascends drastically at the shore is called hydraulic jump. Snow smoke generated by hydraulic jump sometimes reaches 500-700m high. This phenomenon is often seen on a cold day when continental high atmospheric pressure is fully developed. | |
