E-handbook for good practice
In the workshop 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, development of a web-based handbook was agreed by the participants to keep sharing good practices for implementation activities of the Basel Convention among participating countries for enhancing the overall enforcement capability of the region.

Concept and objective
E-handbook is a web-based handbook which are being developed under the agreement of the Asian Network workshop 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a mechanism considered by the participating countries to share each country’s good practices for effective implementation of the Basel Convention in a systematic and effective manner.
The following is the concept of e-handbook- E-handbook consists of several chapters by type of good practices
- Good practice of each country will be summarized into 1-2 pages
- The information will be uploaded to websites and can be accessible and downloadable from all the participating countries and other partnering countries/organizations.
- It is the living document to which additional good practices will be added in accordance with the progress of activities undertaken by participating countries.
Concept and objective
It is expected that the participating countries would obtain the following benefits through e-handbook;
- Countries can learn and duplicate successful cases of other countries in an efficient manner.
- When starting new activities, advice or support can be obtained from well-experienced countries.
- Mutual understanding about the Basel enforcement activities can be enhanced.
- In total, implementation capacity of the Basel Convention can be strengthened in the region.
- Cooperation with Customs and Relevant Authorities
- User-Friendly and Efficient Procedure
