Towadako Shinzantei is a ryokan, a traditional inn. It is the only spot in the Lake Towada and Oirase area where one can savor authentic robatayaki (literally "fireside-cooking"). Robatayaki refers to a method of cooking, similar to barbecue, in which items of food on skewers are slow-grilled over hot charcoal. The borders of Aomori and Akita meet at the lake, and the inn gives you a chance to enjoy fresh delicacies from the sea and the mountains of both prefectures.
Mantenboshi, our large communal bath, has won high praise from guests. It features a cobblestone-lined tub bottom that soothes the feet, and hot spring water infused with sodium, calcium, and other minerals.
When you travel to Lake Towada and Oirase to see their ever-changing scenery, we at Towadako Shinzantei Inn are ready to offer you the kindheartedness and rustic charm of northern Tohoku.

Shinzantei Inn is located near the border between Aomori Prefecture and Akita Prefecture. The inn's staff speaks two Japanese dialects, which are spoken in Aomori and Akita prefectures. You might enjoy learning a phrase or two by inquiring about the differences between the two?
We wholeheartedly look forward to your visit.
