[Abstract]

This five year program investigated global environmental problems using the results and outcomes of the Global Environmental Research Program and other international research programs, and examined some of the basic conditions for sustainable development. The program produced and used a variety of models to analyze these problems and develop new scenarios that take into account conditions for sustainable development and relationships within the global economy. The work completed during this time is described.
