This study makes clear 1) the present energy consumption and CO2 emission in the field of agriculture, 2) the present consumption of petrochemical products and electricity and its resultant CO2 emission, 3) CO2 emission in the production of agricultural material such as fertilizer, agricultural chemicals and films, and 4) the present consumption of energy and CO2 emission during the agricultural production process such as facilities, that is, greenhouses, hothouses and the operation of agricultural machines. It is also clarified that the features and promise of the techniques of CO2 emission control, energy conservation and environmental protection in agriculture.
