Model Course Scenery

Omote-sando of Mt. Iwate
A popular course with the largest number of people entering the mountain

The Yanagisawa Course that starts from Umagaeshi (633 m high) in Takizawa City is the most commonly used of all courses for religious climbing since ancient times. On the way, climbers can choose either the new road for climbing through shrubbery zone or the old road though bare rock zone with fine view. On the 8th Station, there are a water place called Onari-shimizu Spring to supply water and a shelter hut with resident manager (summer time only).

This is a trail fun to walk because more views afar including those of Morioka’s central city area and Kitakami-Sanchi mountains will spread before your eyes gradually by each step you take.
