| The Area is located at the center of the South Orkney Islands and consists of Powell Island south of the latitude of the southern summit of John Peaks, Fredriksen Island, Michelsen Island, Christoffersen Island, Grey Island and adjacent unnamed islands. The Area is delineated by the lines of 60°42’50’’S, 44°58’20’’W, 60°45’30’’S and 45°04’20’’S. (Powell Island and islands inside the rectangle in the map below.) |
