What is Co-benefits Approach for GHG Reduction and Pollution Control ?
Co-benefits Approach means the initiative that is expected to realize the measures to control the environmental pollution which is particularly an issue in developing countries and at the same time the reduction of greenhouse gas emission that requires measures on a global scale. This approach has an advantage of higher efficiency of these measures altogether compared to the case of implementing them individually. Focusing on its advantage, Japan promotes the Co-benefits Approach for the environmental pollution controlling measures mainly in developing countries as one of the important policy tools.
