Mt. Unzen Visitor Center

Located in the center of the Unzen Onsen hot spring district, the Mt. Unzen Visitor Center offers easy-to-understand information and commentary on the natural environment and history of the Shimabara Peninsula, centered on Mt. Unzen. Placing a spotlight on the hot springs that are one of the attractions of Mt. Unzen, it features a range of displays on the mechanisms of hot springs and their connection to volcanoes. The annex can be used as a photo display room and a rest area.

Heisei-Shinzan Nature Center

Located at the site of the former Mt. Fugen pyroclastic flow, this nature center allows a close-up view of Mt. Heisei-Shinzan. It offers easy-to-understand overviews of the Mt. Fugen eruption, volcanic geology, the relationship between volcanoes and living beings, and more. Visitors can also directly observe how the natural environment recovers after the devastation of a volcanic disaster.

Unzen Suwano-ike Visitor Center

Located along Suwano-ike Pond amid agricultural village scenery, this visitor center features displays on astronomy and the nature found in Satochi-Satoyama (community- based forest areas and the surrounding countryside). It is also equipped with a large-size astronomical telescope, and is actively used as a spot for celestial observation.

The Amakusa Visitor Center uses panels and models to give visitors to the Amakusa area of the national park an easy-to-understand introduction to nature and culture. Rich with information that makes travels more fruitful, it delights those who visit. Its spacious rest area allows leisurely relaxation as well as an excellent view.

The Tomioka Visitor Center spotlights the abundant nature of Amakusa-nishi Coast, the site of the Tomioka Marine Park, Amakusa Marine Park, and Ushibuka Marine Park.
