Introducing places of interest: Setonaikai National Park (Fukuoka Prefecture)
Mekari Park Area
The western tip of Setonaikai National Park is occupied by Mekari Park, which is situated on Mt. Kojo, a slightly elevated peak facing the Kanmon Strait and located in Moji-ku, Kitakyushu City. Brimming with greenery, this park is a popular destination among residents of Kitakyushu City and tourists. The view of Kanmon Bridge (height up to the vehicular road level is approximately 61 meters; length of the bridge is 1,068 meters) from the Kojozan Observation Point and Mekari Sanso (an inexpensive lodge run by the local government) is well worth seeing.
