Hot Spring Accommodation Kinkiyu Hotel

Kinkiyu Hotel
Clouds of steam and scents of sulfur: A hot spring hotel with a privately sourced sulfur spring.

Being located at the foot of Mt. Iwosan between Lake Mashu and Lake Kussharo, each hotel in Kawayu Onsen (hot springs area) has its own private source for hot spring water on the property. As Kawayu Onsen boasts a naturally abundant supply of hot spring water, every facility directly pipes in the spring water from the source without filtering or circulating. Kinkiyu Hotel is the only facility in Kawayu Onsen where the hot spring water is certified as safe drinking water, so you can drink it straight from the source―it has a tart flavor similar to warm lemon juice.

For both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, you can enjoy delicious, homemade meals cooked with local ingredients from eastern Hokkaido.

Message from the Facility
Even among the other hotels in Kawayu Onsen that have their own private source of spring water, at Kinkiyu Hotel, we have garnered a reputation for having the most mineral-rich hot springs of all. This is an excellent place to enjoy eastern Hokkaido’s only sulfur hot spring. Around Lake Kussharo and Lake Mashu, there are also many activities that let you experience the untouched wilderness of Hokkaido, such as canoeing in the headwaters of Kushiro River and Lake Mashu star watching tours.
