These are the waters in the vicinity of Cape Motta on the Sea of Japan side of the Oshima Peninsula. Since in the area of these waters there is no road to the coast from the Motta Tunnel, the coast retains its natural state to a high degree. These waters also include the breeding grounds of numerous bird species.
