These are the waters in the vicinity of Hitsushima and Oshima Islands off the coast of the city of Hagi, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Hitsushima and Ohshima Islands used to be parts of the village of Rokuto (“six islands:” Ainoshima, Hagi, Oshima, Hajima, Hishima, and Ohshima). These waters include the spawning grounds of multiple fish and other species.
