These are the waters on the west side of Sakurajima in Kinko Bay in Kagoshima Prefecture. In the Sakurajima fishing port, Hamamachi, and Port of Kamoike are found true annual eel grass beds. Since the eel grass in this place grows to heights of 2 m or higher despite being an annual grass, this area are important (Ministry of the Environment, 2001).
