These are the waters from the vicinity of Cape Zanpa across Cape Maeda to Manza Beach on Okinawajima Island. Fringing coral reefs unfold along the coast of the sea extending in front of Cape Zanpa, with a high degree of diversity of species. In Yakatakatabaru in the village of Onna remain habitats from saltwater marshlands to seagrass and seaweed beds, where highly diverse species of benthic animals live (Ministry of the Environment, 2001).
