The 14th Environment Congress for Asia and the Pacific (ECO ASIA 2006) to be Held

The Ministry of the Environment is going to convene the 14th Environment Congress for Asia and the Pacific (ECO ASIA 2006) on June 24th and 25th in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. Representatives from 23 nations, including environmental ministers of 11 nations in Asia-Pacific region, and representatives of 11 international organizations will participate in the meeting. The main topic for discussion at ECO ASIA 2006 is "Towards Sustainable Societies." It aims at exploring how citizens, communities/local governments and the Asia-Pacific region should promote activities at their own levels.
During ECO ASIA 2006, Saitama City will hold the Saitama Environmental Forum 2006 as a side event on June 23rd and 24th in Saitama City.
