The Ninth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention of Biological Diversity

The ninth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention of Biological Diversity (COP 9) will be held in Bonn, Germany, from May 19th to the 30th, 2008. The conference will address extensive issues including 2010 Biodiversity Target, Biodiversity and Climates Change and Protected Areas and Agricultural Biodiversity. On the last day, May 30, COP10 date and venue will be decided (of which the Government of Japan is offering to host in Nagoya, Aichi). A high-level ministerial segment will take place from May 28th to the 30th parallel with COP 9. Major issues will be discussed such as: "Business and Biodiversity" and "Destruction of nature- the costs to the global economy ".
