Status Announced for Fluorocarbons Recovery from Commercial Freezers/Air Conditioners in FY 2006

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) released information regarding the state of recovery of fluorocarbons from class-1 specified equipment (commercial freezers such as food showcases, large-scale freezers/refrigerators and refrigerated storage areas, and commercial air conditioners) in FY 2006.
Operators for class-1 fluorocarbons recovery reported to the prefectural governors the amount of fluorocarbons recovered from class-1 specified equipment in FY 2006 in compliance with the Law concerning the Recovery and Destruction of Fluorocarbon. The aggregated value obtained from those reports was approximately 2,541tons (a 10.6% increase although the collected number was 2.9 % down compared to FY 2005) (See Tables 1, 2 & 3).
