The 21st National Conference of the Liaison Council of Municipalities for Water Environment Conservation and Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters Summit in "Hokuto" to be Held

The 21st National Conference of the Liaison Council of Municipalities for Water Environment Conservation will take place on October 6, 2007 at Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Hokuto City is where the Hakusyu River, the Ojira River, and springs in the south of the Mt. Yatsugatake plateau, all of which are known as being among the "Selected 100 Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters," are located.

On the same day, following the conference, the 2007 National Symposium of the Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters will be held at the same location. The Symposium is held annually with the aim of promoting the preservation of water environment and raising awareness of water quality conservation. The 2007 Symposium will take place under the name of "Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters Summit in Hokuto." At the Summit, lectures and a panel discussion will be held on the theme of "Messages from Water: Preservation of Exquisite and Well-conserved Waters for the Future of Our Children."
