A Part of the Nasu Imperial Villa Open to the Public

The Ministry of the Environment and the Imperial Household Agency discussed opening a part of the Nasu Imperial Villa to the public. The Villa has rich flora and fauna, and a major part of the site is designated as a National Park. As the result of the discussion, it has been decided to transfer jurisdiction of the part of the villa from the Imperial Household Agency to the Ministry of the Environment in FY2007. The Ministry of the Environment plans to improve necessary policies, including facility improvement, in cooperation with relevant organizations including the Imperial Household Agency, Tochigi Prefecture, the Tochigi Prefectural Museum and Nasu Town.
