CoP14 to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) to be Held

The 14th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP14) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) will be held in The Hague (the Netherlands) from June 3 to 15, 2007.

In the meeting, amendments will be made to the Appendices that regulate the international trade of the specific species, and resolutions will be adopted on the convention's work program and issues of the trade and conservation of species.

Furthermore, in the 55th meeting of the CITES Standing Committee preceding the CoP14, export trade issues of ivory of African elephants to countries including Japan from the three South African states will be discussed.
