Test Operation of Dust and Sandstorm (DSS) Information Page by the Ministry of the Environment
In response to increasing public interest, the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has begun to provide real-time information on the spread of dust and sandstorms (DSS) on the MOE website (http://soramame.taiki.go.jp/Kousa/) as a test operation. It is available between April 19 and May 31. In cooperation with the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), etc., the Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) observation data from ten observation stations in and out of Japan shall be provided.
The MOE will make efforts to share LIDAR observation data with related countries and to promote the establishment of the DSS monitoring network in Northeast Asia.
