FY2006 Results of Comprehensive Survey on Water Pollutant Discharge

The MOE has released the FY2006 Results of Comprehensive Survey on Water Pollutant Discharge today, which is a basic data for the establishment or revision of effluent standards.

SURVEY ITEMS
Survey items are as follows:
1. The number of employees, scale of business dealings, operating conditions, industrial classification, etc.
2. The amount of industrial water and effluent
3. The concentration of living environment items in effluent
4. The conditions of using or producing harmful substances and the concentration of harmful substances in effluent

SUBJECTS
The subjects of the survey are factories or business establishments with the specified facilities (specified business establishments) which are discharging 50 m3 or more of effluent per day on average, and those using harmful substances.

The number of the surveyed subjects this year is as follows:
1. Specified business establishments not using harmful substances which discharge 50 m3 or more of effluent per day on average: 26,844
2. Specified business establishments using harmful substances which discharge 50 m3 or more of effluent per day on average: 5,610
3. Specified business establishments using harmful substances which discharge less than 50 m3 of effluent per day on average: 7,647
