Administrative Guidance on the Unapproved Genetically Modified Medaka

The Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, acting under the Law Concerning the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biological Diversity through Regulation on the Use of Living Modified Organisms, have demanded reports to a wholesale dealer and retail dealers of aquarium fishes who sold the genetically modified medaka (the so-called glow medaka) without the approval required under the Law.
