In order to listen to a wide range of opinions from the nation, we implement a Public Comment Procedure.

For the purpose of building a sustainable society with less environmental load along with the aim to reduce greenhouse gases, etc., by pursuing contracts considering reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases, etc. (hereinafter called the Green Contracts) when public institutions like the State and local governments, etc. are procuring goods and services, Green Contract Act has come into effect on November, 2007.

Institutions like the States, etc. are tackling the Green Contracts in accordance with the Basic Policy prescribed by the article 6 of the Green Contract Act. At present, the Basic Policy stipulates specific contents and procedures on the Green Contracts, concerning the 6 contracts, i.e., power supply, procurement and lease of automobiles, procurement of ships, energy conservation improvement, construction and waste management.
