Launch of the East Asian-Australian Flyway Partnership

We are pleased to announce that the East Asian-Australian Flyway Partnership was launched with 16 participating organizations, including 9 national governments, at the Flyway Meeting for Migratory Waterbirds, Wetlands and Local Communities held in Bogor, Indonesia on November 6, 2006. The launch was followed by the First Meeting of the Partners on November 7-8.

The Partnership aims to provide a framework of multilateral cooperation for the conservation of migratory waterbirds, building on the achievements of the Asia-Pacific Migratory Waterbird Conservation Strategy, as well as to compliment bilateral cooperation based on the bilateral treaties or agreements in the region.
