The Result of Reinforced Monitoring Activities for Prevention of Illegal Export and Import of Wastes by the Regional Environment Offices during the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3R) Promotion Month

Reinforced monitoring activities for prevention of illegal export and import of wastes by regional environment offices was undertaken in cooperation with Customs as part of the activities of the 3R Promotion Month this October.
The result of the activities is as follows:
1. The result of reinforced monitoring activities for prevention of illegal export and import of wastes.
(1) Joint inspection of dubious cargos by the Regional Environment Offices (REO) and Customs.
(2) Site Verification to the cargos of exporters which have already been offered pre-application consultation services.
(3) Dissemination of regulations and legal framework to control export and import of wastes and pre-application consulting service.
1. Distribution of brochures and information materials
2. Information about training workshops for exporters and importers
Moreover, The MOE intends to continue thoroughgoing monitoring of wastes at Customs through dispatching of lecturers to training seminars for staffs of Customs and discussion with customs agents as well as active joint inspection of dubious cargos to prevent illegal export and import of wastes.
