The Study of Basic Zoning Information on Renewable Energy (FY 2011) released

Since FY2009, the MOE has carried out studies of potentials for the introduction of renewable energy in Japan to estimate abundance, introduction potentials and possible introduction amount under scenario of photovoltaic power generation, wind power generation, small and medium scale hydro power generation and geothermal generation, respectively. The results of these studies have also been available as map information (the Renewable Energy Introduction Potential Map). In the study of FY2011, the results and map information are scrutinized, re-estimated and revised.
Furthermore, the Basic Zoning Information are prepared using PDF layers for abundance, introduction and respective limiting factors, which are necessary to extract possible areas for renewable energy development.
