Brief Report of the 10th Workshop on Greenhouse Gas Inventories in Asia (WGIA10)

The Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MoEJ) and the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam (MONRE) convened on July 10th-12th in Hanoi, Vietnam, the 10th Workshop on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories in Asia (WGIA10). The annual workshops held since 2003 have always aimed at supporting Non Annex I (NAI) Parties in Asia to develop and improve their GHG inventories. Over 130 participants attended WGIA10 in total, including government and research representatives of fourteen countries (Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao P.D.R., Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam), in addition to representatives of international organizations (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Technical Support Unit of the IPCC Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (IPCC TFI TSU), United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Regional Capacity Building Project for Sustainable National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management Systems in Southeast Asia (SEA GHG Project), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency of Australia (DCCEE), and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)).
