16th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 16) and 4th meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention(WGRI 4) to be held

In consideration of each agenda to be discussed at the forthcoming 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP11), the 16th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 16) will be held from 30 April through 5 May 2012, followed by the 4th meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-ended Working Group on Review of Implementation of the Convention (WGRI 4) to be held from 7 through 11 May 2012, in Montreal, Canada.
Both meetings will discuss a wide range of issues including progress made towards implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the achievement of the Aichi Targets, resource mobilization, biodiversity and climate change, and marine and coastal biodiversity. The results of the discussions will be put forward to COP11 to be held in October 2012 in Hyderabad, India as a set of recommendations.
