15th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA15) to be held

The 15th meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA15) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is going to be held in Montreal, Canada on November 7-11, 2011.

At the meeting, while mainly having discussions about scientific and technical issues including updated technical rationales and indicators for the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020, Sustainable use of biodiversity, and a draft comprehensive capacity-building strategy for Global Taxonomy Initiative(GTI), side events about the East and Southeast Asia Biodiversity Information Initiative(ESABII) and the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) will also be held on November 8.

The results of this meeting will be suggested to COP11 scheduled in India in October 2012.
