Result of the "Green Wave 2011"
During the period from March 1, 2011 (Tuesday), through June 15, 2011 (Wednesday), the MOE, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism called for participation in the "Green Wave 2011," in which children and youth all around the world planted and watered trees in commemoration of the "International Day for Biological Diversity" (May 22nd).
The MOE has put together the results of those activities, showing that tree-planting activities took place in 42 prefectures, by some 28,000 participants from 383 groups, resulting in nearly 79,000 trees planted.
