Inclusion of Furen-ko and Shunkuni-tai in the East Asian - Australasian Flyway Site Network

At the recommendation of the MOE, Furen-ko and Shunkuni-tai (Hokkaido, Nemuro City) was approved to join the Flyway Site Network (for sites of international importance to migratory waterbirds) under the Partnership for the East Asian - Australasian Flyway.
The area will be recognized as an important wetland for East Asian - Australasian migratory flyway, and collaborative conservation activities will be implemented along the flyway.
Nemuro City, Hokkaido will receive a registered certification on November 7, 2010.
