Publication of "The Manual of the Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Local Government Operations - Abridged Version (1st Edition)" and information sessions for the Non-Designated Municipalities

The MOE compiled "The Manual of the Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Local Government Operations - Abridged Version (1st Edition)" to help the non-designated municipalities (the municipalities with less than 200,000 people) develop their own action plans based on the Law Concerning the Promotion of the Measures to Cope with Global Warming.

This manual shows simple methods of GHG emissions estimate for small municipalities to estimate a present state of emissions and to set a goal for emissions reduction based on "The Manual of the Action Plan for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Local Government Operations (1st Edition)" compiled in June 2009. It aims to promote planning exercises and countermeasures against global warming in small municipalities where calculating GHG emission could be a difficult task.
