Revision of the Basic Policy concerning the Promotion of Contracts Considering Reduction of Emissions of Greenhouse Gases and others by the State and Other Entities

A revision of the Basic Policy concerning the Promotion of Contracts Considering Reduction of Emissions of Greenhouse Gases and Others by the State and Other Entities, which is based on the law concerning the Promotion of Contracts Considering Reduction of Emissions of Greenhouse Gases and Others by the State and Other Entities (Green Contract Law), is adopted by the Cabinet on February 5th, 2010. The main content of the revision is the addition of the contracts of procurements of ships and vessels as a new type of green contracts which are considered that the State and Other Entities should conclude.
In accordance with the revision, explanatory meetings will be held in 23 prefectures from February 15 to explain the concept of Green Contract Law and the contents of the Basic Policy (include the contents of the revision), etc., for agents of the State and local government and related companies. In the meetings, all presentation will be explained in Japanese.
