First Publication of the Results of the Chemicals Classification Program Based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS)

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and other Ministries concerned have launched the Chemicals Classification Program based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), for the purpose of assisting businesses to develop their Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and labels.

The MOE and other Ministries recently published the results of classification of 98 chemicals, out of approximately 1,500 target chemicals to be classified under the program. The 98 chemicals are those that are subject to the Industrial Safety and Health Law. The ministries also published the Classification Manuals which have been developed and utilized in this program.

The results of classification of approximately 60 more chemicals will be published in March.
