1. Background
The Asia-Pacific Seminar on Climate Change (hereinafter referred to as AP Seminar) has been held almost every year since 1991, and served as a regional vehicle for countries to build confidence through exchanging their views and experiences on climate change issues in a practical manner. This year, the 24th AP Seminar, co-organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australia, focused on Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) that all Parties are invited to submit well in advance of the COP21.

2. Objectives
The 24th AP Seminar aimed to deliver the following objectives:
- to share updates on the process of designing and preparing INDCs in the Asia-Pacific countries and other major countries;
- to discuss technical challenges that countries face while preparing INDCs;
- to discuss decision-making processes to develop INDCs under the coordination among related ministries and stakeholders, and;
- to discuss possible reporting / information sharing for the implementation of INDCs
