Towards 'Leapfrog' Development in Asia

Asia is predicted to account for 45% of the world’s energy-related emissions by 2030. Both low carbonization and economic development in Asia are essential to achieve the long-term goal of halving emissions of greenhouse gases worldwide by 2050. Japan’s exceptional low carbon emissions technologies have developed in response to various issues. These technologies must be used to promote low carbon development in Asian countries in order to achieve that goal.

This Portal was established to provide those who are interested in achieving low carbon development in Asia with consolidated information regarding international negotiations and related policy trends, policies, and support systems. This Portal aims at spotlighting the need for Japan’s leadership domestically and internationally, while supporting various stakeholders to reduce carbon emissions.
